The Center for eLearning Assistant Provost, Vicki Brown, led a group of innovative leaders from both the Florida college and university system in the development of the Online Student Support Scorecard. The Scorecard was a response to one of the tactics in the Online Education 2025 Strategic Plan developed for the Innovation and Online Committee of the Florida Board of Governors. That Scorecard was launched nationally by the Online Learning Consortium. It is now available for higher education institutions to use as a continuous evaluation and improvement tool of the support services available for online students and the quality of that service.
In addition to the national launch of the scorecard, Dr. Brown also received a “Best in Track” award for a presentation on a study conducted using the scorecard of the services available at the Florida State University Systems. A joint submission detailing the use of the scorecard to improve student support at Florida Atlantic University and Texas State University received the Best Effective Practice Award. Presentation of both awards will occur at the Accelerate conference in Orlando Florida, November 13th. These awards represent that great work by the wonderful student support service personnel both here at FAU and across the state. All of these individuals put the interest of students first and opened their services to online students.
