Announcement of the awards recipients highlighted the 2016 FAU Teaching with Technology Showcase.

Dr. Victoria Brown expressed special thanks to the Advisory Board members who served on the Awards Committee. She also thanked everyone who participated in the process.

The FAU eLearning Faculty and Leadership Awards celebrate our faculty and administrators’ dedication to excellence, innovation, and student success in online education. Our University’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of education makes FAU a leader in online learning.

FAU eLearning Faculty and Leadership Awards Guidelines
Purpose:

The purpose of the FAU eLearning Faculty and Leadership Awards is to celebrate our faculty and administrators’ dedication to excellence, innovation, and student success in online education.

Selection Process:

  • All awards will be judged by members of the eLearning Advisory Board and representatives from the Office of the Provost.
  • All materials submitted will be compiled for awards committee members.
  • Committee members will review individually, then meet as a group to determine award recipients.

Nomination Process:

Leadership Award Requirements:

  • One letter of support from a Dean or colleague
  • Provide a narrative description detailing evidence of excellence in eLearning leadership.
    You may address one or more of the following for consideration:
  • Excellence in leadership of eLearning programs or initiatives for growth of eLearning at FAU.
  • Vision and innovation in affecting positive change toward the adoption of eLearning faculty development.
  • Commitment to quality eLearning course design and facilitation.
  • Commitment to ongoing eLearning faculty support.
  • Commitment to eLearning scholarship.

Full-time Faculty Award Requirements:

  • Please provide a narrative description detailing evidence of excellence in eLearning education. You may address one or more of the following for consideration
    • Innovation in course conceptualization and design
    • Commitment to promoting student success through teacher presence, community building, student support, authentic assessment, multimedia content delivery
    • Commitment to on-going professional development
    • Commitment to eLearning scholarship
    • Commitment to peer mentorship.
  • Upload 2 letters of support, one of which must be from your Chair or Dean
  • Fully online (80% or more) course examples including full course number(s) for Blackboard course.

Adjunct Faculty Award Requirements:

  • Provide a narrative description detailing evidence of excellence in eLearning education. You may address one or more of the following for consideration:
    • Innovation in course conceptualization and design
    • Commitment to promoting student success through teacher presence, community building, student support, authentic assessment, multimedia content delivery
    • Commitment to on-going professional development
  • Fully online (80% or more) course examples including full course number(s) for Blackboard course.
  • Upload 2 letters of support, one of which must be from your Chair or Dean. The other can be from a faculty colleague or FAU staff member.

Awards:

Full-time faculty award recipients will receive:

  • An award plaque
  • $1,000 stipend
  • Registration, travel and accommodations for attendance at a select eLearning conference

Adjunct faculty award recipients will receive:

  • An award plaque
  • $1000 stipend
  • Registration, travel and accommodations for attendance at a select eLearning conference

Leadership award recipient will receive:

  • An award plaque
  • $2,500 stipend
  • Registration, travel and accommodations for attendance at a select eLearning conference

All nominees will be informed of the results via email.
