During 2016, a committee of distance learning leaders from the Florida University System has been doing extensive work to implement the 2025 Online Education Plan approved by the Innovation and Online Committee for the Florida Board of Governors (BOG). The 49 tactics crossed three areas: access, affordability, and quality. To accomplish the work on these tactics, 11 workgroups were formed. That work will be revealed at the January 25th BOG meeting in Lakeland Florida. Items to be presented include awards for course design, suggestions for degree programs to put online, a plan for increasing open access textbooks and resources, funding for innovation, a process to decrease cost for services, increasing access to distance learning, an evaluation tool for student support services, a plan for shared courses and degrees, and opportunities for professional development. As the details are released, blogs will be available describing the project or policy and how it affects us at FAU.
