What is your name and degree program?

My name is Patricia Belin, and I’m a criminal justice major.

When did you start taking online classes?

I started taking classes in May of 2017.

Why did you decide to become an Owl?

Well, I decided to become an Owl because I know a lot of people that have studied here, and they have been successful in the professions that they’ve chosen. I also have my best friend who graduated from here, and she loved the school. She had a great experience. And I knew the school really had the credibility that I wanted to present myself in the workforce with.

Do you participate in any clubs or organizations?

Yes, I’m actually part of the American Criminal Justice Association. It’s a club that they offer on the main campus. And even though I’m a student here, there’s a lot of ways that you can still connect to the campus. Even though you might be far or taking classes online.

What advice do you have for future Owls considering online classes at FAU?

I would definitely recommend that you stay consistent with your emails. A lot of things, even though we are presented through the system that’s being used online, you can miss a lot of things if you don’t stay on top of your emails. I check them almost every day.
