OMBUDS
The University Ombuds works to solve problems, to allay frustration, and to advise those requesting help, either before or after existing processes are used. The Ombuds is a neutral party. Depending on the nature of a problem, and prior attempts at resolution, the Ombuds offers guidance, advice, interpretation, and review.

 

 AVAILABLE SOFTWARE
FAU has agreements with various vendors to provide discounted licenses for FAU students. For Microsoft products please visit the Office of Information Technology (OIT) for more information. OIT has also partnered with JourneyEd.com to provide our students with discounts on software and hardware. Some colleges may provide software based on your major that are required for your courses. Please contact your coll>ege for a list of software available to you.

MATH LEARNING CENTER
The Math Learning Center (MLC) was created to help FAU students develop their math problem-solving skills so they have the confidence and ability to solve math problems on their own. The MLC also offers online eTutoring services for some courses. Check the schedule for dates, times and URLs.
 CS COMPUTER LAB
TAs are available online to assist students enrolled in selected introductory Computer Science classes with computer programming and other questions. Enroll to participate in Online Programming Labs. Request one-on-one assistance or WebEx sessions at scheduled times. Share your screen to demonstrate the challenges you are experiencing while completing assignments.Sign up! At scheduled times, students can join a WebEx session to get one-on-one help with programming related questions.

TAs will use audio conference and students can share their screen in breakout rooms to describe their problems.

EXCELLENCE IN WRITING ASSISTANCE
The University Center for Excellence in Writing supports and promotes writing for all members of the FAU community:

The center’s consultants are informed and sensitive readers who help writers become more reflective readers and more self-sufficient crafters of their written work. Consultants help students at any point in the writing process (i.e., brainstorming, drafting, revising) and with papers for courses, senior or master theses, dissertations, job applications, applications for graduate school, articles for publication, grant proposals and other documents.

 CANVAS LMS SUPPORT
Canvas Tier 1 support is available 24×7, 365 days a year. There are multiple ways to get support for Canvas-related issues or questions. Call the toll-free number (855) 691 7827 or call the FAU Help Desk at 561.297.3999 and choose Option 3.If you are logged into Canvas, click on the Help icon at the bottom left corner, under the global menu. You will be able to chat with a Canvas representative by clicking on “Chat with Canvas Support” or you can choose to “Report a Problem,” which will submit a ticket to Canvas Support.

TAKING ONLINE EXAMS
